Massage Therapy For People With A Disability

Certified RMTs delivering fully adapted therapeutic massage for individuals with physical, neurological, and sensory disabilities — at home, at your pace, with no clinic barriers.

Massage Clinics Are Frequently Inaccessible. We Come To You.

Stairs, narrow doorways, limited parking, and clinical environments that don't accommodate wheelchairs, assistive devices, or complex positioning needs create genuine barriers for many Canadians with disabilities. In-home massage removes every one of those barriers. Your therapist comes to you — with the training to adapt every technique to your body's specific needs, positioning requirements, and health conditions.

"There is no standard approach to disability-adapted massage. Each session is built around your mobility, your condition, and your comfort — every time."

Caregivers and support workers are always welcome to remain present. The session is conducted in your home or facility, in your environment, at your pace. Nothing about the session is standard — because your situation is specific.

Professional, Vetted, And Fully Credentialed.

Disability-adapted massage requires a higher level of preparation and care — and that is exactly what our accessible care team provides.

Therapist matched to your condition

We match therapists based on relevant condition experience. For rare or highly specific conditions, our care team advises before any booking is confirmed. You are never assigned a general therapist for a specific needs session.

Caregiver always welcome

Caregivers and support workers can remain present throughout the session, assist with positioning and communication, and provide feedback on client comfort. Their presence is welcomed and integrated.

Session stops immediately if needed

Sessions can be paused or ended at any point — at the client's signal, caregiver's signal, or therapist's assessment. There is no session obligation, no minimum duration, and no charge for early stopping.

Ongoing care plan developed

For chronic conditions, your therapist documents session notes and develops an appropriate ongoing plan. For complex presentations, this is done in consultation with caregivers and medical team members.

· Fresh linens per client    · Sanitized equipment between sessions
· Regulated provincial standards followed

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Do you have therapists experienced with specific conditions?

Yes — we match therapists based on relevant experience. Specify your condition at booking and we'll ensure the assigned therapist has appropriate training. For rare or highly specific conditions, our care team will advise before confirming.

Can my support worker or caregiver be present?

Yes — always. Caregivers can remain present throughout, assist with positioning and communication, and provide comfort feedback. Their presence is part of the session, not an interruption to it.

Can you work around my wheelchair without me transferring?

Yes — many clients receive massage while remaining in their wheelchair. Accessible techniques are applied to the back, shoulders, arms, and neck in a seated position. Your therapist will assess options on arrival.

Is massage safe for people with muscular dystrophy?

Massage can provide comfort and reduce contracture discomfort for people with muscular dystrophy — but technique must be carefully adapted. Your therapist will review muscle fragility and tolerance before every session, without exception

Do you serve clients who communicate non-verbally?

Yes — our therapists are experienced working with non-verbal clients. Consent and comfort monitoring rely on non-verbal cues reviewed with caregivers during intake. Nothing is assumed.

Is disability-adapted massage covered by insurance?

Coverage depends on your province and specific plan. Some provincial disability programmes, extended health plans, and Veterans Affairs Canada cover RMT massage. Individual receipts are issued after every session.
